Scott W. Blek
Founding partner Scott W. Blek specializes in energy contracts and transactions. Practicing since 1993, Mr. Blek has drafted and negotiated a wide range of commercial agreements related to energy development, construction and operation. He also has collaborated on the purchase and sale of power plant assets, and on acquisition and disposition of energy companies.

Mr. Blek has performed transactional work not only throughout the western United States, but also internationally in Thailand, Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Canada and Mexico. His clients include private-sector companies and public entities, and his energy experience encompasses natural gas, coal, solar, wind, biomass and geothermal projects.

Mr. Blek has expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts — including power purchase agreements, EPC contracts and maintenance agreements — in addition to labor agreements, purchase options, corporate contracts and bid documents. He has helped his clients complete real property agreements —including land swaps, ground leases and easements — along with supplying general business advice and support.

After obtaining a bachelor of arts degree in communications in 1990 from UCLA, Mr. Blek obtained his juris doctor degree in 1993 from the University of California, Davis. He manages GalatiBlek’s Southern California office, in Burbank.
