Sandra A. Carey
Sandra A. Carey is an advocacy professional who helps GalatiBlek’s clients navigate the California Legislature and government administrative agencies. Founder of the advocacy firm Carey Associates, Ms. Carey has devoted 15 years to law firm administration and governmental relations. Her career milestones include a run for the California State Assembly in 2004.

Ms. Carey’s interest in government and politics began during her teens, when she worked as a volunteer for several political candidates and community organizations. She served as a counselor and tutor for disadvantaged children in Washington, D.C., and developed skills as a grassroots organizer. Her growing passion for politics led first to a job as the staff volunteer coordinator and later as a political campaign administrator for the presidential campaign of Edmund S. Muskie. She subsequently became a staff consultant for political affairs for the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

Advocacy was a natural progression for Ms. Carey, who has counseled a broad spectrum of businesses and interest groups in cultivating constructive relationships with government administrators and elected officials.

Ms. Carey studied anthropology at George Washington University and psychology at American University in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the California Elected Women’s Association, Sacramento’s Capitol Network and California Women’s Political Caucus, and serves on the board of directors of the Asian Pacific Islander Public Affairs Association.
