Scott A. Galati
Founding partner Scott A. Galati specializes in traditional power and
renewable energy development, as well as permitting and governmental relations.
In private practice since 1993, Mr. Galati has represented individual developers,
publicly traded corporations, municipalities and joint power authorities.
Mr.
Galati’s development experience includes helping to identify potential project
sites; meeting with local, state and federal agencies and permitting authorities;
developing local outreach programs; lobbying local and state officials; and
participating in internal project strategy and timeline development. Mr. Galati
offers valuable technical expertise and legal advice long before a project
is ready to file for its necessary permits and approvals.
His permitting experience
includes representing private generating companies and public utilities before
the California Energy Commission. Mr. Galati has acted as lead regulatory counsel
for the successful permitting of traditional power and renewable energy facilities
with a combined power generation capability of more than 5,300 megawatts.
Mr.
Galati obtained a geological engineering degree with a minor in civil engineering
in 1987 from the University of Nevada, Reno. He obtained his juris doctor degree
at Lincoln Law School in Sacramento, where he is an adjunct professor. His
unique engineering background enables him to work well with an interdisciplinary
team of technical experts and to understand and craft reasonable solutions,
thereby saving the client exorbitant mitigation costs. Mr. Galati manages the
Northern California office of GalatiBlek LLP in Sacramento.
